Déborah Helle (she/her) is the first French and Swiss certified Intimacy Coordinator, represented by the prestigious talent agency VMA in Paris. She has been practicing professionally as an Intimacy Coordinator since 2018, with credits spanning Netflix, Canal+, Arte, RTS television series, and French feature films.
Déborah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Directing from the Haute École d’Art et Design (HEAD) in Geneva and a Master’s degree in Actor Training and Coaching from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. Her approach is rooted in understanding power dynamics, prioritizing consent, and implementing trauma-informed practices to create safe and inclusive environments within the entertainment industry.
Throughout her career, Déborah has worked in countries and production contexts where the role of Intimacy Coordinator was not yet formally recognized. In these pioneering environments, she collaborated closely with directors, producers, and performers to design, implement, and adapt consent-based protocols from the ground up. This unique experience has shaped an approach to intimacy coordination that is culturally attuned, and pedagogical, combining structured methodology with creative flexibility. Notably, Déborah co-authored the first national recommendations for the professional handling of intimacy scenes in the Swiss film industry. A project supported by ARF/FDS, SSFV, Swissperform, AROPA, the IG : Independent Association of Swiss Producers, and the Ticino Film Commission.
Drawing on over eight years of experience on film sets, Déborah has a strong background as an acting coach, guiding minors through emotionally charged and intense scenes involving violence and suffering. This experience has reinforced her skills as an intimacy coordinator and nurtured her methodology, providing a sensitive and structured framework that fosters safety and authenticity in vulnerable work.
Her practice is further informed by over twenty years of professional training and experience in contemporary dance, which underpins her work as a technical choreographer for intimate and physically complex scenes. This embodied knowledge of movement and spatial dynamics allows her to translate directorial intent into precise, repeatable, and consent-driven choreography, bridging artistic vision with rigorous safety standards.
